Who are we?

FABLAB BRUSSELS is the prototyping workshop for the Department of Engineering, Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

The lab has in-house capability for FDM 3D-printing, SLA 3D-printing, laser-cutting of plastics, CNC-milling in large sheet materials, plastics and aluminium, CNC-milling in steel, manual lathework, metalwork, welding, waterjet-cutting, PCB-etching & -prototyping, SMD-reflow, PCB-manufacturing of small series, mechatronics prototyping and development of electronics.

The core team originating the project are for the most part
members of VUB RACING, students from INDI who now have put their electric race car aside to focus on this project.

This team has been reinforced with the enthusiastic and indispensable help of researchers from MECH and ETRO, other engineering students and engineering alumni from INDI and experienced programming leads from TRISCO.

We were joined by a substantial team of experienced product development engineers from FLANDERS MAKE.

We are currently around 35 full-time people on-site in the Fablab and about 70 volunteers working from home.
